This reminds me of when I was stationed in S. Korea, and was able to go off base, into the Korean town, just a few minutes away from the base, by myself one Friday early afternoon, when I had the entire day off, due to working a 24 hour guard duty the day before. Once I was relieved from guard duty, I went upstairs to my room in the barracks, took a nap for a few hours, then got up, showered, dressed and proceeded to head towards the front gate, going into town, by myself, quickly walking down to road that led into town, but rather than following the road going straight into town, I looked around, especially behind me, to see if anyone from the base was watching or following me, as I quickened my pace, following the curved road to the left, until I was COMPLETELY OUT OF SIGHT, from the base, and anyone in uniform.
